We are a normal-ish family, living in Melbourne, Australia.

Our immediate family consists of a mum, a dad and our daughter, and our pets: a much-loved cat and an extremely cute guinea pig.

Some labels that could be attached to us include: minority, marginalised, disability and special needs.  When we’re in our little bubble at home, these tags mean nothing.  It’s when we are in the world that they mean something – to other people.

Otherwise, we’re fairly typical of other families.  We live in an average suburb in a regular house, doing what I imagine most families do: paying bills, spending time with friends and family and shuttling our daughter to various after-school activities.

We try to have dinner together each night of the week.
